The Squamish Community Foundation will be administering $155,000 specifically for one-time projects that focus on investing in systems and processes. Projects given as an example include the implementation of a new communications plan or the enhancement of a new accounting system.

This may be of help to local charities and non-profits.

A new community services recovery fund is open for applications in Squamish.

The Squamish Community Foundation is now accepting applications for the Government of Canada’s Community Services Recovery Fund (CSRF).

The CSRF is a $400 million investment meant to support charities and non-profits as they help communities recover from the pandemic.

“Our charities and non-profits are at the forefront of addressing our community’s needs, but many of them are struggling to recover from the pandemic and adapt to changing needs of the Squamish community. With increasing demands for services and the rising cost of living, this funding is needed now more than ever,” said the Squamish Community Foundation board chair, Suzie Soman, in a news release.

According to the release, the Squamish Community Foundation will be administering $155,000 specifically for one-time projects that focus on investing in systems and processes. Projects given as an example include the implementation of a new communications plan or the enhancement of a new accounting system.

The Minister of Families, Children and Social Development, Karina Gould, said in the release that because of the strong connections Squamish Community Foundation has with local organizations, it will be able to ensure that funding is distributed to organizations that provide services where they are needed.

Applications are accepted until Feb. 21, 2023. If interested in learning more about the fund, please get in touch with the foundation. To apply, visit CommunityServicesRecoveryFund.ca
