The BC SPCA is going virtual to involve youth with caring for animals.

Kids in all parts of B.C. can take part in a one-of-a-kind animal-themed online experience.

The BC SPCA is offering Spring Break camps March 15 to 19 and March 22 to 26 for ages eight to 11.

The camps will feature two live sessions a day and they will include games, activities, meeting animals, a shelter tour, guest speakers and presentations.

There will be a variety of activities available online exclusively for participants. They will also have the opportunity to leave video or text messages for the counsellors if they want to share something or ask a question.

Saturday workshops will be held every month for 11- to 14-year-olds from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.

School presentations are also available and will cover a variety of animal themes for grades Kindergarten to Grade 12.

The SPCA will provide information about an animal topic and inspire students come up with ideas to solve a problem in the form of a project – could be a poster, skit, report, display, diorama, speech etc. Teachers are also provided with activities and worksheets that students can do to reinforce the information presented.
