Happy Thursday, Whistler! Here's how it's shaping up out there so far.

Today's forecast calls for a chance of rain showers or flurries and a high of about 8 C in Whistler. A low of 1 C is expected overnight, with more showers or flurries. Looking to tomorrow, the forecast again calls for a chance of rain showers or flurries, with a high of about 11 C.

On the mountain, Whistler Blackcomb (WB) is forecasting a high of about -2 C and a low of about -6 C today, with light winds. The mountain operator is reporting 10 centimetres of fresh snow in the past 24 hours, while the freezing level sits at 1,500 metres.

"Seasonally mild temperatures should persist, along with some moderate ridgetop winds. A more benign pattern is expected this weekend into early next week, with sunny breaks returning as the system weakens and drops southward and another ridge potentially moves in," WB said in its morning report.

WB is reporting 59 groomed runs covering 647 acres on Whistler, and 72 groomed runs covering 561 acres on Blackcomb.

Alpine surface conditions are listed as powder, while mid-mountain is variable.

The avalanche danger rating in the Sea to Sky is currently low, according to Avalanche Canada.

"Conditions are generally safe, but pay attention to the bond of the recent snow as you travel," the avalanche forecaster said on its website.
