Coquitlam school trustee Barb Hobson is seeking reelection for the coming term in the Oct. 20 civic election.

Hobson was first elected to the board of education in 1996 and served two terms, including three years as board chair. She ran again in 2014 and during that time has been a member of the finance and audit committee, a representative to the BC School Trustee’s Association and board representative to the District Parent Advisory Committee and Student Leadership Council.

She is also the president of the board of Place des Arts and the past president of the Rotary Club of Coquitlam.

In a press release, Hobson states she is proud of the district’s current financial situation, calling the decisions sound, as well as new schools, classrooms and additional staff hired over the past four years. For more information, visit https://barbhobson.ca/
