Coquitlam is looking to give away some money to non-profit community organizations planning a project, activity or event in the second half of next year.

Applications for the Spirit of Coquitlam grant funding are being taken until Sept. 30. The program gives grants twice a year to local organizations to host events, purchase equipment, or complete projects or initiatives.

This round of funding is for anything meeting the criteria that's happening from July to December 2020. The projects have to happen in Coquitlam and benefit city residents.

More than 200 organizations have received grants of more than $8.83 million since 2002 under the program, which is funded by money the city receives as host city of the Hard Rock Casino Vancouver.

Full details, including other grant conditions, and a comprehensive application package are available at coquitlam.ca/spiritgrant. Questions can be directed to 604-927-3547, 604-927-3556 or communitygrant@coquitlam.ca.
