The Burquitlam Community Association is hoping a debate it filmed last week and posted online will help shed some light on the electoral reform referendum next month.

The video, which runs for an hour and 35 minutes, features Maria Dobrinskya, who argues in favour proportional representation, and Suzanne Anton, who argues for the existing first-past-the-post system. The debate was held last Wednesday at Banting middle school.

Residents across British Columbia will have their chance to weigh-in on the electoral reform referendum starting next month.

The vote will take place by postal ballot between Oct. 22 and Nov. 30, asking respondents whether they are in favour of proportional representation or the existing first-past-the-post electoral system.
