Distraught, armed man in Port Moody taken to hospital

Police blocked off a Port Moody street this morning after receiving a report of a distraught and possibly armed man. According to a PoMo Police Department press release, police received the report at 5:50 a.m.

Port Moody police attended an incident Friday morning in which a distraught man needed assistance. The Lower Mainland Emergency Response Team was called in to help. The man was taken to hospital and a firearm was seized from the home on Aspenwood Drive.

Police blocked off a Port Moody street this morning after receiving a report of a distraught and possibly armed man.

According to a PoMo Police Department press release, police received the report at 5:50 a.m. Friday of "a despondent male subject needing assistance" and "There was some indication that this male may have had a weapon in the residence."

The Lower Mainland Emergency Response Team was called in to help. Police were able to make contact with the man and they eventually took him into custody. He was take to hospital for examination and a firearm was seized from the home.
