Haven't voted in B.C.'s referendum on the provincial political system? There's still a few hours left until the referendum service office in Coquitlam closes and you can still cast a ballot to keep the current voting system or change to proportional representation.

So far hundreds of voters are making last minute choices, heading to the office at Eagle Ridge Plaza, 310-1194 Lansdowne Dr.

And you don't have to be from Coquitlam to bring your referendum ballot there.

Julie Brassington, who is manning the office for Elections BC, said she's had voters from all over the Lower Mainland bringing their ballots to the office.

As of about noon today, Friday, the last day to cast a ballot, the office had couriered 600 ballots to Elections BC in Victoria for counting.

The results should be made available sometime before Christmas, according to earlier media reports.

As of earlier today, voter participation in B.C. was 37.1%, and slightly lower than that in Coquitlam and Port Coquitlam, with the Port Moody-Coquitlam riding slightly higher at 37.9%.
