Port Coquitlam’s chief administrative officer is moving on.

Today (Wednesday), John Leeburn officially announced he’d be leaving the top municipal post on July 27 “to pursue new career opportunities,” according to a city news release. “He does not yet have another position lined up after he leaves Port Coquitlam.”

Leeburn, 55, a longtime PoCo resident, was hired in PoCo six years ago after 17 years in senior management in Maple Ridge.

“In my time with the city, I have enjoyed seeing the progress we have made as a team,” he stated in the release. “It has been, and will continue to be, a great honour leading this organization and working closely with so many wonderful people.”

Plans to replace him will be confirmed by the spring.
