One person dead in Coquitlam car crash

Two others were sent to hospital with serious but non-life threatening injuries

One person is dead and two are in hospital after a motor vehicle collision in southwest Coquitlam Thursday night. 

The incident occurred shortly after 7:20 p.m. when a grey SUV collided with a black Dodge Durango at Schoolhouse Street and Lucille Star Drive. 

“Two people involved were taken to hospital with serious non-life threatening injuries,” the Coquitlam RCMP said in a press release. “One person was pronounced deceased at scene.”

The crash shutdown Schoolhouse in both directions between Booth Avenue and Lucille Star Drive. 

Mounties said the investigation was in its early stages but noted the Criminal Crash Investigation Team was on scene processing evidence.
