Coquitlam RCMP media relations officer Corp. Michael McLaughlin says the detachment is looking for two teenage girls who were given marijuana in Lions Park on Wednesday. A 42-year-old Coquitlam man has been arrested.

RCMP are trying to find two teenage girls who were given 'free' marijuana in Lions Park in Port Coquitlam on Wednesday.

"The girls did the right thing by turning the drugs over to a city employee, but it's completely unacceptable to have drug dealing in the park," said Corp. Michael McLaughlin. "Police need to speak to those two girls so we can get their stories firsthand and thank them for their help."

The incident occured about 4 p.m. Coquitlam RCMP were able to make a quick arrest, but by the time they did the two girls were gone.

A 42-year-old Coquitlam man faces charges of failing to comply with conditions, breach of conditions and other charges.

The teenagers, or anyone who knows them, are asked to call the Coquitlam RCMP detachment's non-emergency like at 604-945-1550 and ask for the Uniform Crime Reduction Team (file 2018-18690).
