As well, Trillium Projects Management Ltd. also wants to construct a 57-unit, four-storey apartment block in the downtown core, at 2356-2378 Atkins Ave.

Laura Lee Richard, PoCo's director of development services, said the committee — chaired by Coun. Brad West — has the authority to grant development permit applications (DPA) to both companies, without seeking city council consideration, if it chooses.

The two proposals come after the city this past summer sought input on housing options as part of its official community plan review. Among the options the city is looking at are coach homes, smaller lots, duplexes and secondary suites.
