Province will match wildfire donations to Red Cross

The provincial government announced Friday it will match donations to the Red Cross to help victims of B.C. wildfires up to $20 million. The Canadian Red Cross works with the governments of various levels help people affected by wildfires.

The Canadian Red Cross works with the governments of various levels help people affected by wildfires. The Province will match donations until Oct. 12.

People who want to donate can do so by calling 1-800-418-1111, contacting their local Canadian Red Cross office or going to www.redcross.ca.

The province declared a provincial state of emergency last Wednesday and it is in effect initially for 14 days.
