Spring has (not quite) sprung but we'll take the flower photos

Anmore resident's wildflower photographs come a month before spring begins

We are a month away from the spring equinox but signs of the changing season are already upon us.

Anmore resident Holly Koit posted a series of wildflower pictures to the Anmore Conversations Facebook page recently that shows the rural, heavily forested area is already in bloom. Her photos, while taken in the rain Feb. 12, show how even in winter’s chill a few hardy plants are ready to bloom.

The spring-like photos come as the Lower Mainland is about to experience a combination of sun and rain over the next several days.

Wednesday's gorgeous sun is expected to continue through Thursday, according to Environment Canada, with temperatures hovering around 8 C.

The weekend may be a bit damp, with rain expected, but clouds and sun should return at the beginning of the next work week.

Send your spring photos to the Tri-City News at newsroom@tricitynews.com.
