Letter: Back-room shenanigans at PoMo council calls for swift electoral action

If any council member thinks the public does not know where s/he stood on the vote regarding the continuance of mayor's salary, they should pull their head out of the sand

The Editor,

Re. "Vagramov should resign, let city call byelection" (Letters, tricitynews.com).

With great interest I read R. Busch's erudite letter proposing that Port Moody's mayor resign.

I agree, but wish to make an important point. This not not about the court of public opinion nor about the presumption of guilt. This is about council's back-room shenanigans wherein they opt for in camera meetings to determine not only how taxpayers' money is spent but, also, use the process as a means to shield themselves from public scrutiny.

Councillors should be open or expect to be voted out come next election.

If any council member thinks the public does not know where s/he stood on the vote regarding the continuance of mayor's salary, they should pull their head out of the sand.
