Kudos to Port Moody city council for supporting cannabis retail outlets and establishing sensible requirements governing this industry.
In a rare triumph of science and logic, council largely dismissed results from a flawed survey process that revealed continued misunderstanding and misinformation around this topic.
Mayor Rob Vagramov astutely recognized both the misleading summary data on buffer zones and the limited reasoning defining such zones in the first place while Coun. Steve Milani correctly raised the concern that opinions from approximately 3% of the population should not drive bylaw creation.
I look forward to Port Moody council’s continued good work on complex issues in the future.
