Adanacs regain scoring touch against Saints

The Adanacs defeated the crosstown PoCo Saints, 13-5, scoring more goals than they had their previous two games, both of them losses.

Coquitlam led 5-1 after the after first period, 9-5 after two periods and then outscored the hosts 4-0 in the final frame.

Braydon Cresswell scored three times and added an assist for the Adanacs, while Colin Munro had a goal and five assists. Robert Hofseth also had a four-point night. Coquitlam outshot PoCo 48-35.

Garrett Winter led the Saints’ offence with two goals and an assist.

The win moves the league-leading Adanacs six points ahead of second-place Victoria. who’ve played two fewer games. The New Westminster Salmonbellies are in third place, two points behind the Shamrocks. Those two teams meet Saturday in New West.

The Adanacs next play on Wednesday, when they host the Burnaby Lakers, 7:30 p.m., at the Poirier Sport and Leisure Complex.
