The Simon Fraser University Clan men’s soccer team plays its next three matches at home.

That means visitors — beginning with St. Martin’s University on Saturday at 7 p.m. — will be trying to figure out how to end the top-ranked Clan’s unbeaten record at Terry Fox Field that the team stretched to 29 games last Sunday when they defeated Western Washington University 3-0. The last time the Clan lost at home was Oct. 16, 2014.

Coquitlam sophomore Matteo Polisi scored his 15th goal of the season, and his brother Marcello set up one of Connor Glennon’s two goals.

The Clan now have 13 wins overall, with no losses or draws. Seven of their wins have come against Great Northwest Athletic Conference opponents. The team also leads the NCAA in offence with 49 goals.

Women also on a roll

The Clan women’s team extended their own winning streak to four games on Tuesday with a 3-0 victory over Saint Martin’s University at Terry Fox Field in Burnaby.

The win also clinched the team a spot in the Great Northwest Athletic Conference championship tournament that will be held Nov. 1 to 3 in Portland, Ore.

Junior forward Emma Pringle scored all three of SFU’s goals, one of them set up by Coquitlam’s Danae Robillard.

The team will look to prolong its winning ways to five games tonight (Thursady) when the Clan host Seattle Pacific University at 5 p.m. at Terry Fox Field in Burnaby.
