Clan women win ninth of 10

Coquitlam’s Kendal Sands scored 10 points and Riverside secondary school grad Nwabuko Ozioma contributed two points in a 82-61 win by the Simon Fraser University women’s basketball team over Seattle Pacific University, Thursday at SFU.

It was the Clan’s ninth victory in its last 10 games. The team has 11 wins and four losses in games against Great Northwest Athletic Conference opponents, 15-7 overall, and sits in third place.

Senior Sophie Swant led all SFU scorers with 34 points.

The team closes out its regular season home schedule Saturday at the West Gym against Saint Martin’s University.

• The men’s team lost for the first time in four games, 83-60, to Montana State University Billings, in Billings.
