Coquitlam Jr. Adanac John Hofseth passes the ball during Game 3 of the B.C. Jr. ‘A’ Lacrosse League playoffs against the Port Coquitlam Saints. Hofseth scored one goal and three assists as the A’s took down the Saints in Game 4 Tuesday night.

The Coquitlam Jr. Adanacs are one step closer to the Minto Cup.

The B.C. Jr. ‘A’ Lacrosse League team dispatched the Port Coquitlam Saints 10-3 Tuesday night, eliminating the first round opponent in four games and setting the stage for a second round against either the New Westminster Salmonbellies or the Delta Islanders.

PoCo was able to keep things close in the first half of the game but appeared to run out of gas toward the end of the game.

With the game knotted at 3-3, the Saints offence dried up and Coqutilam went on a run that included three goals from Tyler Pace (he finished the game four goals and one assist), two from Dereck Downs while Dennon Armstrong and Brett Kujala added singles. When the final buzzer sounded the Jr. Adanacs were up 10-3.

Christian Del Bianco was strong in net, stopping 33 of the 36 shots he faced and only allowing three goals for 0.917 save percentage.

The first three games of the series went much the same way.

Coquitlam won Game 1 last week 13-8, followed by a 9-6 victory in PoCo in Game 2 and an 11-5 win on Game 3.

The Delta Islanders currently lead their series against New Westminster 3-2 and the teams are scheduled to play Friday in New West and Sunday in Ladner. Whoever wins the series will go up against Coquitlam, who have not lost a game this season.
