Some late inning offence helped the Coquitlam Reds take down the North Shore Twins on Tuseday night.

The Twins were the first to get on the board after Geoff Ehresman batted Mitch Grisbrook home in the top of the second inning.

Coquitlam kept their patience in the innings that followed, keeping Twins runners from advancing.

But in the fifth the Reds were able to tie the game when Hayden Jaco took advantage of an error by the shortstop to advance to home plate.

Two more runs in the sixth, this time from Brandon Becking and T.J. McCullough, and the game was won for Coquitlam,

Tuesday night was the second win in a row for the home team.

The Reds defeated the Vancouver Cannons 8-5 on Sunday afternoon, taking a commanding lead in the first few innings.

Coquitlam put three runs on the board in the first, and added two more in the second to make it 5-0. Two more in the third and a single in the fourth gave the Reds an 8-0 lead before Vancouver could even get on the boat.

But the Cannons were not silenced yet.

In the top of the sixth inning the club put up five runs of their own and the Reds barely escaped the game with the win.

Vancouver had defeated the Coquitlam squad earlier in the afternoon in the first part of a doubleheader.

That contest saw the Reds' bats dry up, with the team managing only one run in the fifth, while Vancouver was able to take a 3-1 win.

The Reds are currently in fourth place in the PBL with a 22-16 record, ahead of the Abbotsford Cardinals who are 16-12. Coquitlam is behind the first-place Langley Blaze (35-6), the second-place Victoria Mariners (23-10) and the third place North Shore Twins (22-10).

The Reds play again on Saturday at Mundy Park where they will take on the Nanaimo Pirates in a doubleheader that begins at 1 p.m.
