Centennial Centaurs’ big man Dominic Parolin scored 50 points and pulled down 21 rebounds to lead his team to a 78-66 win over Oak Bay at the BC High School AAAA senior boys basketball championships in Langley on Saturday.

The victory earned the Centaurs a fifth-place finish at the tournament after being punted by Handsworth in last Thursday’s quarter-final. Centennial, which had been ranked second or first in the province for much of the regular season, followed that loss up with a 70-63 win over Claremont on Friday.

The tournament was won by the Burnaby South Rebels, which defeated the Kelowna Owls, 70-58, in Saturday’s championship final. Vancouver College defeated Handsworth 58-56 to claim third place.

Parolin’s dominating performance against Oak Bay helped him earn a place on the tournament’s first all-star team.

The Terry Fox Ravens finished the tournament in 11th place after a79-60 win over Holy Cross in its final game on Saturday.
