Soccer squad with Tri-Cities players needs money to get to PEI for national championship

Mountain United FC’s under-17 team, which won the provincial title last month with players from the Tri-Cities on its roster, is looking for financial support to send the team to the national championships in Prince Edward Island in October.

The club says most of the expense of the trip will be the responsibility of the players and their families so it has set up a Go Fund Me page at gofundme.com/f/u17039s-journey-to-nationals.

Mountain United plays in BC Soccer’s Premier League and defeated Surrey United 1-0 on a goal by Hamish Ogden of Port Moody in the provincial final held June 22.
