The 17-year-old athlete is preparing for a move to the east coast after signing with NCAA school Pfeiffer University in North Carolina and was also named to the Canadian national under-20 team this year.

But while the Terry Fox secondary student already has a lot of sporting achievements under his belt, he said that there are still goals he is intent on accomplishing.

"I hope to win a national championship in university," he said in an email to The Tri-City News. "I hope that I will get to come back and play in both the WLA (Western Lacrosse Association) and the NLL (National Lacrosse League)."

Goff said he is a little nervous about the move to North Carolina, a state he has only visited once.

However, he will not be alone when he arrives at the school His friend, Jake Bye of Port Coquitlam, is also on the Pfeiffer lacrosse team.

"[The school] is very small and located in the middle of some small towns," he said.

Having played field lacrosse for 11 years and box lacrosse for nine years, Goff believes it was his experience and work ethic that caught Pfeiffer's attention.

He also has some experience in championship games. As a minor lacrosse player, Goff said his greatest achievement was winning two box lacrosse provincial championships and a national field lacrosse championship in a 12-month span.
