Joshua Wildauer scored three goals and added an assist to lead the Coquitlam Express to a 10-5 win over the Chilliwack Chiefs in their BC Hockey League game, Friday at the Poirier Sports and Leisure Complex.

In total, seven different players scored for the Express in their rout of the Chiefs, who are in second place in the Mainland Division, nine points ahead of Coquitlam.

After spotting the visitors an early 1-0 lead just 1:12 into the first period, the Express scored the next seven goals to take command.

Chilliwack feigned a comeback with a three-goal run of its own, but Wildauer’s second and third goals of the game, plus Joshua Bruce’s first goal of the season, put an end to that before the Chiefs’ Ethan Bowen rounded out the scoring.

Henry Rybinski also had a four-point night for the Express with a goal and three assists while Jared Power and Connor Gregga each had three points.

Coquitlam’s power play converted four of 10 opportunities and the Express fired 40 shots at Chilliwack’s goalies, Nolan Hildebrand and Daniel Chenard.

Before the game, the Express honoured the Minto Cup national junior lacrosse champions, Coquitlam Jr. Adanacs, by wearing their jerseys during the warmup.

Coquitlam will try to keep its offence rolling on Sunday when they host the Powell River Kings at 3 p.m. The Kings are currently in second place in the Island Division.
