B.C. man going to trial on child sex, pornography charges

Daniel Robert Hanson faces various allegations involving child pornography as well as communicating with a person under 16 for sexual purposes.

A B.C. man is going to trial on child sex and pornography charges before a Vancouver Provincial Court judge in September.

Daniel Robert Hanson, 35, is facing four charges related to alleged incidents in 2021.

He appeared in court April 24 for a pretrial conference.

He is charged with making available, distributing, selling, importing or exporting child pornography in Vancouver on Aug, 27, 2021.

For the period between Sept. 6-21, 2021, Hanson is charged with communicating with a child under 16 for a sexual purpose in Vancouver.

For Sept. 8, 2021, Hanson is charged with communicating with a child under 16 for a sexual purpose in Fairmont Hot Springs.

For Sept. 11, 2021, he is charged with possessing child pornography at Fairmont Hot Springs.

And, for Aug. 12, 2021, he is charged with possessing child pornography in Vancouver.

Hanson was released on bail June 23, 2021 with conditions he not be near children under 16. He's also prohibited from using devices capable of accessing the internet and is not allowed to possess any pornographic material.
