A GoFundMe has been set up for the family of the double-murder of a father and his 13-year-old son in Richmond, and already more than $21,000 had been raised.

The Integrated Homicide Investigation Team (IHIT) is investigating the Thursday double-murder that happened in the 6200-block of Goldsmith Drive, near No. 2 and Williams roads.

Alli Ridley is a family friend who set up the GoFundMe and she is asking for support for the family during this devastating time.

Police have not yet released the names of the victims.

Just after 10:30 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 30, Richmond RCMP were called to Goldsmith Drive for a report of some suspicious circumstances.

Upon arrival, RCMP officers found two dead individuals inside a home.

On Saturday, IHIT sent out an appeal to the public asking if anyone had seen anything suspicious between 8 p.m. and 10:30 p.m. on Nov. 30 near Rocky View Playground and the adjoining pathways.

"Also, if you were driving or parked in the area and have dash-camera footage, please contact IHIT immediately," said Sgt. Timothy Pierotti of IHIT.

While the double-murder looks targeted, IHIT was still trying to determine the motivation, they said in a press release on Saturday.

Anyone with information regarding this investigation can call the IHIT Information Line at 1-877-551-IHIT (4448) or by email at [email protected]
