Vancouver police are investigating a fatal stabbing on Sunday as a homicide and are asking witnesses to come forward.
Police have identified the victim as Ivy Michelle Bell, 40, of Surrey.
Vancouver police officers responded to Carrall and Water streets following a 911 call at 4:30 a.m.
First responders provided medical aid but she died at the hospital.
A 31-year-old man who knew Bell was arrested by VPD officers. He has since been released as the investigation continues.
Sgt. Steve Addison said the victim and suspect knew each other.
