Snow tires are now a must on B.C. highways.

A snowfall warning has been issued for multiple highways in southern B.C. Friday morning.

Environment Canada says Highway 3 in from Paulson Summit to Kootenay Pass, and from Hope to Princeton via Allison Pass will be impacted, as well as the Coquihalla from Hope to Merritt.

The snowfall is expected to begin Friday night and last through Saturday afternoon due to an incoming low-pressure system.

Total snow accumulation is expected to be 15 centimetres.

"Be prepared to adjust your driving with changing road conditions. Rapidly accumulating snow will make travel difficult. Visibility may be suddenly reduced at times in heavy snow," Environment Canada warns.
