Update: Man arrested in two-person East Vancouver shooting

Vancouver police arrested one man in relation to a shooting in East Vancouver that sent two people to hospital with injuries. One of the victims succumbed to their wounds.

Update on Oct. 20: 

Vancouver Police Department (VPD) homicide detectives have arrested a man on Oct. 18. However, no charges have been laid and the incident remains under investigation. 

One of the two victims, Zuhoruddin Mansoori, 35, died on Monday (Oct. 16) from his injuries. The second victim is recovering. 

The death marks Vancouver's thirteenth homicide this year.

Original story on Sept. 10: 

Two men shot at different times in night in East Vancouver may have been shot by the same suspect according to Vancouver police.

The first incident occurred just after midnight early Sunday morning, Sept. 10, according to a press release from the VPD near the intersection of Victoria Drive and East 28 Avenue.

Before 1 a.m. police received reports of a second shooting nearby.

Both victims were located and taken to hospital. They both have serious injuries.

"VPD’s Major Crime Section has identified a suspect and believe the victims and suspect are known to each other," state police in a press release. "No arrests have been made at this time and the investigation remains ongoing."
