A Lamborghini Aventador was towed by Vancouver police after it was spotted doing 167 km/h near the University of British Columbia.
The supercar was caught speeding the evening of Sept. 13 near the Vancouver university. While the location of the infraction hasn't been released, the highest speed for a road near UBC is 80 km/h on South West Marine Drive. Other areas are 50 km/h or 60 km/h.
In a tweet, the VPD traffic section noted after recording the car doing 167 km/h with a laser, it took two officers to get the car to stop. Police have not said what fines or punishments the driver may face.
Lamborghini Aventadors are one of the fastest street-legal cars on the market with top speeds of around 350 km/h. New base models of the car go for more than $450,000 with some models from the last production year (2022) going for nearly $1 million.
In the photo posted of the car being hauled away, the VPD note the photo has been blurred due to privacy concerns. That irked some people on Twitter.

What the hell is it blurred for? Someone supposedly 'important?' No one else gets that luxury. And it's not like we can't tell what car it is...a Lambo is very easily identifiable.
