A community cleanup to rid Nelson Creek in Coquitlam of  invasive blackberry bushes will be held on Sunday (July 7).

All ages are welcome to the participate in the removal between 9:45 a.m. and 1 p.m. at a site full of invasive blackberry near the intersection of King Edward Street and Lougheed Highway. It can be accessed from Woolridge Street. Tools, gloves and refreshments will be provided.

As of Thursday, 27 people had signed up but organizers “would love to get at least 35 so we can totally wipe out the blackberry at this site,” said a reminder from the Lower Mainland Green team which will be carrying out the activity in partnership with the city of Coquiltam.
