North Vancouver School District technology teacher Justine Frazee assists Highlands Elementary students Justine Childs and Karah Cooper with a coding challenge during a Hackergal event held at the district’s education services centre on Dec.12. The North Vancouver students joined 5,000 girls from across Canada who took part in the hackathon. With women vastly underrepresented in the tech industry all over the world, Hackergal strives to inspire a new wave of Canadian female coders to bring gender equality to the booming industry.
