Daily COVID-19 rate rises in the Tri-Cities despite vaccinations

The average daily rate of COVID-19 cases increased slightly in the Tri-Cities to 7.9. Just over four in five adults aged 50 or over (81%) have received their first shot of the COVID-19 vaccine, along with two-thirds of those over the age of 18 (68%).

The average daily rate of COVID-19 cases increased slightly in the Tri-Cities to 7.9.

Just over four in five adults aged 50 or over (81%) have received their first shot of the COVID-19 vaccine, along with two-thirds of those over the age of 18 (68%).

As several Tri-City businesses that experienced a COVID-19 exposure have returned to work, one other workplace has been shut down.

A CIBC Coquitlam branch is the latest to be warned by Fraser Health of at least three employees who recently tested positive for the virus.

As a result, its location at 1410 Parkway Blvd. East is now closed for 10 days as of Thursday (May 27).

It's the first time in 10 days a Tri-City region business has had to close due to COVID-19.

Colwin Electrical Group in Port Moody and Canada Cartage's Port Coquitlam location recently ended their closure periods.
