Friday is the first date of the summer calendar for Cinema Under the Stars.
The city of Port Coquitlam rolls out its 26 ft silver screen at Sun Valley Park (3700 Hamilton St., off Lincoln Avenue) on July 10 at 9 p.m. for the PG flick Maleficent, starring Angelina Jolie.
On July 24, also at Sun Valley Park, is the animated movie by Disney Big Hero 6.
Over in Gates Park (2575 Wilson Ave.) on Aug. 7 and 21 respectively, at 8:45 p.m., are Tomorrowland (George Clooney) and Avengers: Age of Ultron (Robert Downey Jr.).
Bring a picnic, blanket and lawn chairs for the shows, which are sponsored in part by G&F Financial Group and Telus.
