Documentaries about challenging the tallest and steepest hills around the world will roll next weekend in Port Moody.

The Vancouver International Mountain Film Festival will screen its picks — including several global, North American, provincial and festival premieres — next Saturday (Feb. 10) and Sunday (Feb. 11) at the Inlet Theatre (100 Newport Dr.).

The Saturday afternoon program features the flick The Ario Dream. Directed by Paul Diffley, the show delves into the caves of the Picos de Europa Mountains.

The Saturday matinee line-up also includes The World’s Highest Marathon, a Nepalese/USA short film directed by Bjarne Salen about Lyme disease survivor Christopher Mohn and his journey from the Everest base camp. The other films are: Moment by Zak Griffler; Freedom by Goh Iromoto; This Way Up by Andy McKenna; and Surf The Line by Jeremy Frey.

On Saturday night, starting at 7:30 p.m., there is Tarfala by Johannes Ostergard; 2.5 Million by Tyler Wilkinson-Ray; A Line In The Snow - Greece by Ben Tibbetts; Follow Through by Adam Clark and Isaiah Branch-Boyle; and Sumber by Battulga.

Sunday afternoon’s line-up features the works The Last Honey Hunter by Ben Knight; Foodless Odyssey by Anthill Films; My Irnik by Francois Lebeau; Pursuit by Mike Olbinski; End of Snow by Morgan Heim; and Living With Wildlife by Leanne Allison.

And Sunday, at 7:30 p.m., the program includes Hold Fast by Jim Aikman; The Land of Maybe by Will Lascelles; Above The Fray by Graham Zimmerman; and Stumped by Taylor Keating and Cedar Wright.
