A wood artist and former technology specialist at Telus is the new executive director of the Port Moody Arts Centre.

Last week, Bruce Campbell started his job at the St. John's Street facility to replace Jane Matthews, who resigned in February.

"We are pleased to announce our choice of Bruce Campbell as ED," said PMAC society president Ann Kitching in a news release. "He has a wealth of diverse experiences, is an excellent problem solver and passes motivation downstream.

"I am confident that Mr. Campbell will provide a fresh vision and excellent leadership for the arts centre's innovative direction," she added.

The centre offers more than 300 art programs and music lessons every year as well as gallery exhibitions and special events such as the Wearable Art Awards - which recently celebrated its 10th show - and the Port Moody Festival of the Arts.
