City councillor, engineer named to Coquitlam Foundation board

Coquitlam City Hall and the Tri-Cities Chamber of Commerce appoint Coun. Steve Kim and civil engineer Pulkit Sharma to the board.

The Coquitlam Foundation has two new board members courtesy of Coquitlam City Hall and the Tri-Cities Chamber of Commerce.

On Monday (April 24), the philanthropic group named Coquitlam Coun. Steve Kim and engineer Pulkit Sharma as appointees.

Kim is a small business owner with more than 20 years of experience in the technology, digital media, entertainment and non-profit fields. He has his bachelor’s of arts from the University of Western Ontario and a master’s of arts degree from Korea University, specializing in venture-backed technology, business and economics.

Sharma is a professional engineer and project manager with Kiewit, an infrastructure contractor. He has his master’s degree in civil engineering from UBC.

The pair join SD43 Trustee Jennifer Blatherwick on the board as statutory appointees.

Chaired by John Wolff, the executive of the Coquitlam Foundation executive is made up of Jennifer McKinnon (vice chair); Jack Trumley (treasurer); and Lois McNary (secretary).

And there are four members-at-large on the board:

  • former Coquitlam city councillor and KidSport Tri-Cities executive director Chris Wilson
  • SD43 Trustee Craig Woods
  • BTM lawyer Marko Pokrajac
  • Tri-City News sales representative Sanjay Sharma
