The Editor:

I want to thank Port Coquitlam Mayor Brad West and his council for leading the way on respecting taxpayer money.

I've watched, with concern, as other cities have been announcing property tax increases of nine, 11 and even 17 per cent.

I was very relieved to see PoCo will have the lowest property tax rate increase at 3.3 per cent.

With many costs increasing, it's nice to see our city being fiscally responsible.

I notice many improvements happening in our community at the same time.

I'm glad our tax dollars are being put to good use.

Many other cities could learn a thing or two from Mayor West and council.
