Two Metro Vancouver men are facing child sex-related charges stemming from incidents in 2019.

One man faces a charge of sexually assaulting a person Sept. 8, 2019.

The second man faces charges from the same day of unlawfully observing or recording the same person while she was nude, had her genitals exposed or was engaged in sexual activity.

The second man is also charged from that same day of publishing, transmitting, selling or making available an intimate image knowing the person had not consented to that.

The case is currently in a voir dire before a Vancouver provincial court judge, a hearing generally held to determine admissibility of evidence. Evidence heard is covered by a publication ban until such time as a judge allows it as part of a case.

A publication ban prohibits publication of any information that could identify a complainant or witness in the case.

Glacier Media has chosen not to name the accused as it is unknown if they will be a witness in the case.

The charge information was sworn Dec. 16, 2020.
