HERITAGE WEEK

Tri-City history groups are marking Heritage Week in B.C. with a variety of online programs and resources under the theme “Where do you find heritage?” The Coquitlam Heritage Society has free virtual tours about family life in Maillardville, aimed for pre-school to Grade 1 students as well as Mackin House tours in French. Visit coquitlamheritage.ca to register for the free events. In Port Coquitlam, you can download a printable map for the PoCo Heritage Art Walk or read the submissions for Quaran-Tales via pocoheritage.org. And, at the Port Moody Station Museum, staff are sharing a walking tour of the inlet or the Ioco townsite. Visit portmoodymuseum.org.

DINE IN, TAKE OUT

Support the eateries in the first-ever Taste of the Tri-Cities, an initiative by the Tri-Local collective to support restaurants during their slowest times: Feb. 15 to March 19. The business campaign is organized by the Tri-Cities’ Chamber of Commerce in partnership with the cities of Coquitlam, Port Coquitlam and Port Moody as well as the Tri-City News, the Austin Heights BIA, Downtown Port Coquitlam BIA, Port Moody & Co and Shop Local Port Moody. For a list of the 50 restaurants, pubs and cafes participating — and to see the deals and specials offered during the drive — go to tasteofthetricities.com.
