Time is running out for you to become a safer boater.
As of Sept 15, 2009 everyone operating a powered recreational vessel of any size or type requires a Pleasure Craft Operator's Card (PCOC).
The PCOC is a first step towards acquiring the skills and know-how to safely operate a motorized vessel in Canadian waters, and a requirement for all operators of powered recreational boats
But according to a press release from the Port Moody Power and Sail Squadron, this card is a legal minimum that doesn't cover many situations a boat operator and crew will encounter. The more knowledge you have, the safer you and your family are.
