Musicians and artists will be converging on Leigh Square next weekend as part of Port Coquitlam's Culture Days.

The celebration of culture will feature live music, an opening reception for an art exhibit entitled A View From Water's Edge and plenty of unique vendors demonstrating their process and selling goods ranging from handmade leather and pottery to children's books and organic bath and skin products.

Art Focus will be on site all day with painting tools that kids an adults can try out. There will also be story time readings for children by Kinder Books taking place throughout the day and a free button-making workshop.

Live music will include local indie rock sensations Community Trees followed by guitarist Ivan Dimitrov. Angela Hwang will perform on the cello accompanied by a pianist and Tambura Rasa will end the day with a lively mix of Mediterranean tunes, blending Balkan style with gypsy jazz.

Port Coquitlam's Culture Days event will take place on Saturday, Sept. 29 between 1 and 4 p.m. at the Leigh Square Community Arts Village. For more information go to www.portcoquitlam.ca/leighsquare.
