Whether you have a partner or not, you can learn to dance at Dogwood Pavilion, a Coquitlam recreation facility for people 50 years of age and older.

Starting Monday, Sept. 23, if you have a partner, dance instructor Kathy Bramley will teach you ballroom and Latin dance; participants will learn how to waltz, foxtrot, quick step, tango, cha-cha and rumba. This eight week program, from 12:15 to 1:15 p.m., costs $50 per person.

If you don't have a partner, Beginner Line dance with Kathy Bramley is for you. This program is perfect for the beginner - you won't tread on anyone else's toes and you'll have fun. Program is held on Thursdays and starts on Sept. 26; this 10-week program runs from 2:15 to 3:15 p.m. and cost is $62.50 per dancer.

HAVE A BALL(FIT)

Also at Dogwood, if you are in need of pre-op or post-op conditioning for joint replacement surgery, the Ballfit program, starting on Sept. 25, may be benefit you.

Through the use of both the stability ball and the BOSU ball, fitness instructor Beth Bexrud will work on cardio, strength, stretch and balance. This program provides total body conditioning. All equipment is provided and class size is kept small to ensure personal attention.
