Its 16th annual gala at the Hard Rock Casino Vancouver, in Coquitlam, saw eight companies and individuals receive top prizes for their outstanding work and charitable efforts.

Maureen Seguin of Century 21 In Town Realty was named Chamber Member of the Year while Raj Mutti of Hard Rock was presented with the Young Professional of the Year accolade.

Tom Ramsay of Meridian RV received the title of Business Leader of the Year.

Other awards went to: Dion Custom Metal Fabrication and Design (Business of the Year, under 10 employees); Natu’oil Services Inc. (Business of the Year, 11 to 30 employees); Finger Food Studios (Business of the Year, more than 30 employees); Phoenix Truck and Crane (Community Spirit); and the Rotary Clubs of the Tri-Cities (Not-for-Profit of the Year).

Sponsored in part by The Tri-City News, the sold-out event included a champagne reception for the finalists and a chance to network with other local business owners.

"We are extremely proud of the wealth of outstanding businesses here in the Tri-Cities,” said Chamber CEO Michael Hind, in a news release. "All of the 2016 finalists have demonstrated business excellence and a commitment to bettering our community. They should be extremely proud of their nominations. They’re all winners.”
