Protecting heritage, promoting Canadian diversity and helping others will be the key themes this Saturday, Sept. 10 when the Community Integration Services Society hosts a public painting day to put the final touches of paint on the organization's headquarters — the 106-year-old Melissa Park Lodge, located at 2175 Mary Mill Road, Port Coquitlam.
Members of the public are invited to help with the painting, beginning at 10 a.m., and the project will be filmed and recorded for submission to CTV's Canada in a Day special. "We're going to pull it together and send it. Maybe Melissa Park will be part of the two hours of footage," said Shari Mahar, executive director of CISS, which supports adults with developmental disabilities.
