The Coquitlam Inspiration Garden will be hosting a composting workshop this weekend and next with Spring Gillard, a composting expert.
On Sunday, May 1 (10 to 11 a.m.) and Saturday, May 7 (2 to 3 p.m.).
Gillard will de-mystify the art of composting and simplify it so that everyone can be successful. Seminar participants will be entered into a draw for a free a Earth Machine backyard composter.
The workshop requires registration and costs $10 per person.
As well, on May 7 from 10 a.m. to noon, the Inspiration Garden will run a workshop on worm composting, or "vermicomposting," which can be done in a house or even a small apartment.
Kelly Koome, an Organic master gardener from Society of Urban Landscapers and owner of Green Earth Landscaping will demonstrate and share her knowledge on the topic. Each participant will leave the course with a one-bin worm composting bin. Cost for this class is $30; registration is required and limited.
