Coquitlam residents can double their rebate for home renovations that qualify as energy efficient.

The offer from BC Hydro, FortisBC and CleanBC — as part of the CleanBC Better Homes and Home Renovation Rebate Program — is for residents who update their old heating systems, water heaters, windows, doors and insulation to “greener” models.

The rebates are:

• from $1,000 to $8,000 plus potential bonuses for switching to electric heat pumps from natural gas, propane or oil heating

• from $2,000 to $4,000 to upgrade existing electric heating

• from $600 to $2,400 plus potential bonuses to upgrade natural gas fireplaces, boilers, furnaces and heating systems

• from $1,000 to $2,000 to upgrade water heaters

• $200 per window or door, up to $4,000

• and $900 to $1,200 plus potential bonuses for insulation rebates

To be eligible, Coquitlam residents are asked to register for a promotion code by Dec. 31 via betterhomesbc.ca/rebates/double-the-rebate; the upgrade and invoicing should be complete by March 31, 2021.
