Coquitlam salmon deadline nearing

Tuesday is the cut-off to apply to be a Coquitlam salmon sculpture artist. As part of the city's 125th anniversary celebrations, a dozen of the public art installations will be mounted a high-traffic civic locations and parks.

Tuesday is the cut-off to apply to be a Coquitlam salmon sculpture artist.

As part of the city's 125th anniversary celebrations, a dozen of the public art installations will be mounted a high-traffic civic locations and parks.

Created by Squamish Nation artist Jody Broomfield, the fibreglass salmon sculptures stand 5'6" high and 6' wide.

Successful artists or teams picked to adorn the giant salmon will receive $1,600 per sculpture, which much be complete by July 8 — in time for the Kaleidoscope festival
at Town Centre Park.
