Some Coquitlam kids will get to meet royalty this long weekend.
Thomas MacKerricher, Antalya Popatia, Kungjun Lee, Kavya Shah and Cameron Herberts will receive the The Duke of Edinburgh's Award during a presentation by His Royal Highness The Duke of York Prince Andrew at Government House in Victoria on Saturday.
The Duke of Edinburgh's Award is an international youth award for participants between the ages of 14-25. It is a fully inclusive program, without academic requirements for participation. More than 40,000 Canadian youth are currently participating in the Duke of Edinburgh's Award program, either as independents or members of organized groups such as Boy Scouts Girl Guides, cadets, community Centres, churches, friendship centres, or schools.
